The sweltering heat
Gives way
To cold sweats

Shivering
Damp and lonely

I yearn
for autumn

A gentle warmth
Arriving
Late

A mellow sweetness
Long awaited
Emerges

Apples
Pumpkins and Squash

All the flavor
Mingles

As you linger
Simmering
Here
With me
